Moscow was the host town for the 34-th edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, between 12-17 of March 2017. It was the Fall Winter 2017-2018 Edition with more than 50 designers from Rusia, Italy, Georgia and Kazakhstan.
The season also featured several debuts of young designers, among them were awardees of the Russian Fashion Council’s grants.
They presented their collections on the famous catwalk of Manege Central Exhibition Hall. This particular edition reunited a bunch of international mass-media personalities. The Huffington Post, Fucking Young, Vogue USA, Vogue UK, Observer, Forbes USA, The Issue Magazine, Dazed, Fashionista, BuzzFeed, just to name a few of them.

One of the main attractions of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia was Fashion Futurum International Conference, no doubt about it. This was held with the support from the Russian Fashion Council, Moscow’s Department of Culture, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russian Federation, Agency for Strategic Initiatives and Skolkovo Foundation. Therefore, there were 2 days of public speaking, workshops, startup projects, and many more fashion industry topics related. Over 30 experts from the international business of fashion discussed about current trends and demolishing the fashion stereotypes of the digital era and its filters.
Some of the speakers who participated were: Carlos Espinosa de Los Monteros (High Government Commissioner for the Spain Brand, Spain), Michael Burke (Head of Industry, Fashion, Sports & Toys, Google, USA), Scott Emmons (Head of the Innovation Lab, Neiman Marcus, USA), Covadonga O’Shea (Founder, ISEM Fashion Business School, author of the bestselling Zara Phenomenon, Spain) and many more.
Among the most interesting startups are Style Counsel, ShareCloth.con, Cloudburst, 3D Footwear Brutally, Posh, SC-TEK, Bundlesapp, Cardberry, Try. Fit, Preloved.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia ended on March 17 with the Firdaws Show at Petroff Palace. There were long feminine dresses decorated with beads and embroidery, fancy tops and a pastel colored fashion designs. The beauty of a woman’s body was the highlight of the Fashion Week because there were slim refined silhouettes, lace everywhere, purity being the keyword of the event.

There were over 60.000 guests, over 30.000 photos uploaded on Instagram cu the official hashtag #MBFWRussia, LIVE streaming from the actual shows, fashion bloggers everywhere, and a bunch of articles describing the details of the event.
