Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph is a wonderful partnership between Hublot and Ferrari. Even if it seems quite unusual, this is an old partnership of two famous brands. It first started in 2011 and it proved to be an interesting association with astonishing final results. Thus, Hublot becomes the fourth luxury watchmaker granted the honor of adorning the iconic Ferrari prancing horse emblem. In fact, it completes the series of Ferrari associations over the years. Firstly, it was Girard Perregaux for the Ferrari Collection from 1994 to 2004. Another important cooperation was under the “Ferrari engineered by Panerai” logo, in 2005-2010. Then ferrari worked with Cabestan in 2010, for Scuderia Ferrari One, a very limited-edition, one-off project.
70 years ago, Ferrari started producing supercars. This is old news already. Everybody remembers Enzo Ferrari’s first drive test on the streets of Maranello in 1947. However, this event is extremely important for people all over the world. Therefore, Ferrari’s partners decided to mark this important moment and launched a new product in March, at Baselword. It is a special watch that Hublot created for this anniversary: Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph.
Thus, this watch sums up two successful approaches. On one hand, there is Ferrari’s unique design experience. On the other hand, it is Hublot’s history in watch industry. So, a watch which was designed by Ferrari and created by Hublot can only be a huge success, can’t it?
Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph is available in three different versions: King Gold, PEEK Carbon and Titanium. each of them comes in 70 limited edition units, as it intends to be a collection masterpiece.
Main features for Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph
The design is impressive and makes Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph a ultra-sport watch. Of course, it does nor have the looks of a Hublot watch. Instead it is more of an accessories inside a Formula One car. On the other hand, this is no surprise coming from ferrari designer Flavio Manzoni.
The Hublot manufacture took this design by Ferrari and applied its expertise in engineering, materials and watchmaking. The result is a feasible aesthetic and technical concepts. A chassis case with a modular construction of three components—skeleton middle, container, and back cover. So it remained true to the styling imaged by Ferrari.
Moreover, the new Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph also comes in PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) Carbon. This is a multi-layer hypo-allergenic material from particularly long carbon fibres which makes it extremely durable and reliable. Also, it is a must for this very open case.

It is easy to handle by an original lever in Ferrari red anodised aluminium.
Its imposing tourbillon is visible on the dial. They treated it with ruthenium anthracite to make a finely tuned “engine”.
The Ferrari logo is clearly visible at the 9 o’clock position whilst the Hublot logo is at 5 o’clock. The sapphire dial reveals the cutting edge mechanics that it shelters, and an external raised section holds the timer. A matt black block designed by Ferrari, affixed to the sapphire holds a race-inspired twin half-second counter at 3 o’clock, the minutes counter at 11 o’clock and the column wheel at 1 o’clock—the brain controlling this sleek chronograph with tangential coupling.
In conclusion, the new Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph is quite a masterpiece.
